Power Solutions Mobile, Clean and Financially Viable Energy

Floating Power Solutions are units with a topside producing electricity and supporting structure. The topside may be equipped with either gas turbines and/or engines, regassification plant, storage tanks and desalination plant as well as the power transformation systems. The structure could be a container, boat, barge, ship og other structures. The power plant may utilize LNG, LPG or other types of fuels, and the fuel storage tanks may be integrated or located at a nearby structure (onshore or offshore).

Kanfer Power provides solutions within three segments, with flexible design base's making it possible to scale-up the capacity within each segments if necessary at a later stage:

Small: Installed Capacity from 2 – 30MW. Primarily engines
Floating Barge: Installed Capacity from 30 – 150MW. Primarily engines
Floating Systems: Installed Capacity from 150 – 450MW. Primarily turbines. Larger capacity may be available upon request.

Onshore solutions, including power plant container, may also be provided.

Construction Philosophy Kanfer Power will always strives to provide the most optimale solutions for a project and hence we have a «best available solution» design philopshy. This means that we will develop and collaborate with the EPC company and the Engine/Turbine vendor that is best suited for a specific project.

The Beauty of a Power Solution

MOBILE

The power solution is mobile and can easily be moved from one location to another if required. While the barge solution can be moved from one continent to another, it also can produce power at the same location for decades.

Greenfield installations onshore are irreversible and cost are basically sunk. Floating power stations are re-salable and has a substantial residual value. Hence there is less risk in investing in a floating facility.

COST EFFICIENT

LNG power stations are far less costly to built than any other type of power stations. This also include renewable energy.

RE-SALABLE

When onshore power stations are built it is irreversible and cost are basically sunk. Floating power stations are re-salable for decades and has a substantial residual value. Hence there is less risk in investing in a floating facility.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Natural gas is the most environmentally friendly fossil fuel. Burning natural gas in the place of other fossil fuels emits fewer harmful pollutants, and an increased reliance on natural gas can potentially reduce the emission of many of these most harmful pollutants.

BUILDING

Construction is done at a ship yard under controlled conditions. The building time is far shorter than building an onshore power station. It is estimated that it would take between 16-24 month from decision to completion.
